Leslie Odom Jr. Announces New Baby With Touching ‘Hamilton’ Tribute

Leslie Odom Jr. and his wife Nicolette Robinson announced Monday that they’re expanding their family of three with a baby boy on the way.

The Hamilton star posted a series of Instagram pictures of him and their 3-year-old daughter Lucy caressing Robinson’s baby bump.

“Lots of reasons to celebrate over here. Lots of reasons for hope too,” Odom wrote in the caption. “Baby boy and mama are doing swell. Praying for him and all the little ones on the way! The new class!!  …We’ll make it right for you.”

He ended his sweet note with the lyrics to “Dear Theodosia” from Hamilton, a touching ballad about fatherhood that he sings with Lin-Manuel Miranda about Theodosia and Phillip, the children of their respective characters Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton.

The Waitress actress posted her own set of pregnancy pics and revealed the baby’s due date is in March. “Sweet baby boy, we cannot wait to meet you,” she wrote. “More reasons to love, to live, to connect, to pave the way for you and other little ones arriving in this world… We love you. Arriving March 2021.”

This sweet storyline might sound familiar to some fans who watched the couple star on Freeform’s romantic quarantine miniseries Love in the Time of Corona. Odom and Robinson played a married couple named James and Elle who contemplate whether they should have another kid, considering the anxiety arising from quarantine and the reckoning with systemic racism.

In a Q&A session on his Instagram Story, one fan asked if they had any baby names picked out already. Odom revealed that he and Robinson already have one locked down — but they’re not ready to spill just yet. “We do. We only refer to him by his name around here,” he replied.
