‘Positions’ Launches Ariana Grande to the Top of Yet Another Chart

Ariana Grande returns to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated Nov. 14) to become the top musical act in the U.S. for a 14th total week, and for the first time since April 2019, thanks to her new LP Positions.

The album launches as Grande’s fifth No. 1 on the Billboard 200, opening with 174,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

All 14 of the album’s tracks concurrently land on the latest Billboard Hot 100, with two charting in the top 10: “Positions” at No. 2, after it soared in at the summit a week earlier, and “34+35,” new this week at No. 8.

With her 14th week at No. 1 on the Artist 100, Grande ties Post Malone for the fourth-most weeks totaled in top spot, dating to the chart’s 2014 launch. Taylor Swift holds the record for the most weeks in charge (41), followed by Drake (31) and The Weeknd (20).

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
