Tash Sultana, Sampa The Great & More To Feature On This Week’s Episode Of ‘The Sound’

News

The Sound is gearing up for the sixth episode of its second season this weekend, and now they’ve announced the huge acts that will be playing, including Tash Sultana, Sampa The Great, Courtney Barnett and more.

Tash Sultana will be making their debut on the performance series, after they just hit a colossal billion streams globally this week. Their performance will be filmed inside a hangar at Melbourne’s Avalon airport.

Sampa The Great will be linking up with Baker Boy and Dallas Woods for a rendition of their track ‘Better Days’. Filmed in part at Victoria’s iconic Hanging Rock and in part at Sampa’s current residence in Botswana, the performance comes just after Sampa took home three ARIA awards last week.

We’ll also be getting a sneak peek of Courtney Barnett‘s forthcoming live-streamed performance special, From Where I’m Standing: Live from the Royal Exhibition Building, which is set to air on Thursday, 17th December. As an exclusive for The Sound, she’ll be sharing her performance of ‘Sunday Roast’.

Pendulum, Kita Alexander, Budjerah and A. Swayze & The Ghosts will also be performing as part of the new episode.

Marcia Hines will be linking up with Russell Morris, Didirri, Mia Wray and Andy Bull in a tribute performance to ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Max Morris.

The Sound airs on Sunday, 6th December at 6pm on ABC.
