The Teskey Brothers Share Two New Christmas Songs, Announce Livestream Concert With Orchestra Victoria

News

Folk-rock troubadours the Teskey Brothers have embraced the Christmas spirit, releasing a pair of holiday-themed original songs – ‘Dreaming Of A Christmas With You’ and ‘Highway Home For Christmas’. The first arrives alongside a Nick Mckk-directed video, which you can check out below.

“Our first Christmas tunes! These two songs are both inspired by the lockdown we all faced this year. The story speaks to the separation of lovers and family, in Victoria’s case divided by the great Murray River, holding onto hope for a reunion at Christmas,” explained the band in a statement.

“You’ve got a lonely soul at home who’s ‘Dreaming Of A Christmas With You’, while their loved one is hightailing it down the ‘Highway Home For Christmas’. After a slow year off the tools, it was so much fun to get back together and record these tracks live in the room.”

To coincide with the new songs, the brothers Teskey have announced a live-streamed performance from Melbourne’s Hamer Hall that will see them explore their back catalogue and debut the new singles.

With songs reimagined by arranger Jamie Messenger and performed with Orchestra Victoria, that’ll take place on Tuesday, 22nd December from 10am AEDT via the band’s YouTube channel.
