Shakira Crowned Google’s Most-Searched Artist of 2020: See Full List

Google has unveiled its Year in Search List, revealing all of the trends of 2020 including music, movies, sports teams, and more.

In the U.S, Shakira tops the most-searched artist and band list, followed by August Alsina, Adele, Doja Cat, Grimes, Van Halen, Lizzo, Tamar Braxton, Quando Rondo, and Tory Lanez. Shak is also the No. 7 most-searched person of the year, just above Tom Brady, Kanye West, and Vanessa Bryant.

But the Latina superstar, who’s currently making the rounds with the Black Eyed Peas-assisted “Girl Like Me” single, is not the only Colombiana on the list.

For a second year, Karol G landed on Google’s Year in Search list with “¿Que es Tusa?” or “What is Tusa?” The term rose from No. 10 to No. 3 this year in the “Que es…” list under the popular U.S. terms searched in Spanish, following “¿que es el Coronavirus?” and “¿que es una pandemia?”

Karol previously told Billboard that “Tusa” is Colombian slang for heartache. In the catchy bop, the Colombian artist sings about a girl who thinks she’s over her ex but gets really sad whenever she hears the song that reminds her of him. Nicki’s rap verses, on the other hand, assures the ex that it’s his loss and now she’s moved on.
