On Thursday (Dec. 10), Karol G crooned to fans via a virtual concert held at The Fillmore Miami Beach. Not only did she perform hits such as “Bichota,” “Tusa” and “Ocean,” but she also connected with select fans via a virtual meet-and-greet. The Colombian star is the latest artist to join the all-female powerful lineup for the Verizon Up concert series that celebrates diverse women’s voices including Erykah Badu, Jessie Reyez and Chloe x Halle, to name a few.

J Balvin on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

J Balvin was a guest star on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, where he talked about all the great things that happened in his career this year, including making Latin Grammy history, the J Balvin McDonald’s meal, and becoming the first Latin artist to collaborate with the Jordan brand. During the interview, Balvin revealed that it took him three years to execute his vision for the shoe and how the colorful footwear was inspired by his three albums: Energia, Vibras, and Colores.

Dylan Fuentes on Vevo DSCVR’s “Artists to Watch”

Vevo DSCVR’s “Artists to Watch,” which celebrates emerging artists through live performance content, unveiled its 2021 list in November, which included Dylan Fuentes, the only Latin artist on the promising roster. This week, the Colombian newcomer, part of Tainy’s Neon16 talent incubator, wrapped Vevo’s DSCVR Artists to Watch annual series with the performance of his songs “Mente” and “La Pena.” “Couldn’t think of a better person to close out our series aimed at bringing you the future of music. He’s definitely on the path,” reads the description.

Jenni Rivera’s La Gran Señora

After being absent on Spotify, Jenni Rivera’s La Gran Señora, her 11th studio album released in 2009, was placed back on the streaming platform this week in remembrance of the eighth anniversary of her tragic death. In addition, Rivera received a platinum and gold album for Aparentemente Bien and a gold album for Engañemoslo. The plaques were presented to the Rivera family by Pepe Garza on behalf of Sony Latin during a virtual press conference.

Steve Aoki’s New Year’s Eve Party

For its eighth annual Grand Park NYELA, Los Angeles’ official New Year’s Eve celebration is going global with its first-ever broadcast debut on Fuse. Counting down to 2021, and starting the fiesta, are renowned DJ Steve Aoki and Latinx emerging artists AQUIHAYAQUIHAY and Andrekz, both signed to Aoki’s Dim Mak En Fuego record label. Special guests include BIA and Gasolina Party’s 2Deep. Grand Park’s NYELA will take place starting at 11 p.m. PT on Thursday, Dec. 31 via Fuse TV and Live Streaming on various platforms.
